The Practical Exam is conducted in German
Please note that the practical exam is conducted entirely in German. Before the exam drive begins, the examiner will ask you questions about the vehicle. Therefore, a good understanding of German is necessary – if you cannot understand the examiner, your test may be cancelled. Our instructors will practice important German terms and phrases with you, but you will still need basic command of the German language to follow all instructions.
We offer driving license training in English.
We have three instructors who speak fluent English and will support you throughout your learning journey.
Whether you are a complete beginner or already hold a foreign driving license – we are happy to assist you with the so-called “Umschreibung” (conversion of a foreign license).

Steps for Converting a Foreign License (Umschreibung)
If you would like to convert your foreign driving license, there is a specific step-by-step process we follow:
- First, please bring all required documents for registration at the driving license authority (Kreis Segeberg, Kreis Pinneberg, Kreis Stormarn, or Hamburg).
A full list of necessary documents is available in the menu under
“Handout: What do you need?” - At our office, we will register your personal details and give you access to our app “Drive Buzz Artemis”.
This app will help you prepare for the theoretical exam.
The Theoretical Exam
The theoretical exam can be taken in English or one of the following languages:
Arabic, French, Italian, Croatian, Greek, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, or Turkish.
Once your documents have been processed by the licensing authority, you will receive a letter from TÜV Nord or TÜV Hanse.
This means you are now eligible to take the theoretical test.

Driving Lessons & Practical Exam
After passing the theory test, you will begin your driving lessons with one of our instructors.
Our License Conversion package (Umschreibungspaket) includes 10 driving lessons.
From experience, we know that taking driving lessons is essential for learning German traffic rules and passing the practical exam.
Your instructor will let you know during your lessons if more than 10 sessions are recommended.
